Greetings!
As we celebrate this Memorial Day … and as the fight continues in Ukraine … I am profoundly grateful to Americans who have made sacrifices in the name of democracy and Country just as the Ukrainian leaders, citizens and fighters are now doing. While the brutality of the fight is brought home to us every day, thanks to the news media, I can only imagine what it has been like for Americans in the face of war. Some of us have experienced this first hand, personally or with family members. Others, like me, have escaped tragedy and have only participated from the sidelines. And that’s where I am today. Participating from the sidelines.
In a way, it makes me more anxious because it feels like there’s so little I can do. However, today in the Newsletter, I offer a profound “thank you” to American service men and women who have fought and died to keep us safe in a free democracy. We honor your service and sacrifice. To share a favorite quote:
“May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.”

Celebrating a Successful Fundraiser on Behalf of the Women of ASSIR
Two years ago, my colleague Sara Kurz and I started a women's group in our company, called the Women off ASSIR. We meet virtually once a month and last fall decided to expand our efforts to the local community.
On April 27th, the Women of ASSIR hosted a cocktail hour fundraising event at the Old Thompson Barn in RVR to honor 3 local non-profits: Aspen Valley Land Trust, the Advocate Safe House Project and the Aspen Hope Center. We are so pleased with the funds that were raised and appreciate all those involved. Cheers to a wonderful evening supporting our community!
